192.168.1.1 is the default gateway IP Address – http://192.168.1.1/ – used to login as admin of router settings such as TP-Link, D-Link, Linksys, Netgear.
It is a private IP Address and can be accessed through a single device only at a time to avoid any conflict between the devices. Unlike Public IP Address, which is the same for different devices connected to the same network, Private IP Addresses such as 192.168.1.1 cannot be same on different devices.
Visiting 192.168.1.1 from web browser leads to the login page of the router’s settings from where different settings of the router can be changed given that the default gateway address of your device connected to the network is 192.168.1.1. If you’re looking to make changes to the settings of the router or changing the password of your Wi-Fi Network then this can be done by logging in into the Router’s Settings through 192.168.1.1.
How to login to 192.168.1.1?
Make sure that you’re connected to the router’s network and the default gateway address is 192.168.1.1. (It can be different sometimes, you can check out the label on the router to find out)
- Open any web browser.
- Click http://192.168.1.1 or type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar.
- A login window will appear.
- Enter the login username and password provided by the router company or you can find it on the label on router.
- Given that the login details are correct, you will enter the router’s settings page and make the desired changes from there.
Why can’t I connect to 192.168.1.1?
- 192.168.0.1 is not opening or keeps on loading because your router may support different gateway IP address. Try 192.168.0.1, 10.0.0.1 or 192.168.1.254.
- 192.168.l.l is commonly used to login to router settings, however it is typo. The correct IP address is 192.168.1.1.
- Restart your PC and reset your router to resolve this issue.
